Deborah is a hormonal health and fertility acupuncturist. She qualified as an acupuncturist and received a BSc (Hons) Acupuncture degree by the International College of Oriental Medicine, one of the largest and most well-respected teaching institutions in the whole of Europe for acupuncture.  She is an insured member the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) the UK’s main regulatory body.

Since qualifying Deborah has been further developing her busy clinical practise through additional courses in the fields of fertility, pregnancy and gynaecology with stalwart teachers such as Debra Betts and Jill Glover.  She has studied extensively natural and assisted conception (IVF and IUI) through pregnancy to birth and post-natal recovery.  Acupuncture is a fantastic way to prepare the body for conception and she is keenly interested in helping women who are trying to conceive either naturally or through IVF treatment.

In addition to providing pregnancy support, she has extensively treated morning sickness, musculoskeletal issues, anxiety, encouraging breech babies to turn and labour to commence. She is also trained to treat women’s issues such as PCOS, endometriosis, unexplained miscarriage and menstrual issues.  An area she especially enjoys working with the emotional aspects of conception and pregnancy, as acupuncture aims to treat the mind and body together.

A growing area of specialism and personal interest is treating emotional disorders such as stress, anxiety and depression. As a fully qualified massage therapist, she also combines massage with acupuncture where appropriate, to achieve the best results.

Her greatest reward is in helping people overcome illness and reach a vibrant level of health.  Treatments are tailored to suit individual needs and look to address the underlying constitution and all aspects of the individual, (holism) as well as the presenting signs and symptoms, in order to promote optimal wellbeing and limit reoccurrence.  As well as frequently using moxibustion in her treatments she will also give nutritional advice within the parameters of Chinese Medicine.

Prior to retraining as an acupuncturist and massage therapist she worked for several years in a City law firm so fully understands the stresses and time constraints on busy working people. Her practice has been strongly influenced by personal recovery, with the aid of acupuncture, from a serious sporting accident several years ago.  In addition to facilitating a good recovery from the physical aspects of the injuries, acupuncture became the catalyst for her to overcome the emotional trauma of the event.
